09 Jul DIY Flower Wall
I almost feel silly writing about my flower wall, because let’s face it, a monkey could do this DIY, but it is fun and colorful, and I wanted to talk about it a bit more.
For my Home Depot Patio Challenge this year, I wanted to make it really fun for the kids. I knew I wanted to do something with an art theme, but it also gave me the chance to use this idea of taping flowers on the wall. I wrote about it in this post over a year ago, and if you want to see more “sophisticated” installations of this concept, click over and see the photos. They are very inspiring.
I love this simple decoration plan for an outdoor/garden party on a blank fence (or an ugly fence you want to cover up!), a fun installation in a kid’s room, or an elegant way to display sentimental flowers and plants you have dried.
The best part is it could not be easier to do! For this project, I used yellow duct tape since I needed a strong tape to grip the brick wall, and a few rowdy kids. : )
In no time at all, the wall was coming alive.
I will say, you really need to make sure the tape is pushed down firmly, or you will end up with flowers on the ground.
Now my kids want “garden walls” all over our house. : )
