Secret Sources: Trade Fabric Remnants

Secret Sources: Trade Fabric Remnants

If you have ever fallen in love with a fabric featured in Elle Decor or the like, looked it up, and gasped at the $$$ price tag per yard, this post is for you.  Oftentimes, a remnant of two or so yards of your favorite, most coveted fabric is plenty for you to make pillows or chair covers, and be happy.  There are a couple of sites I use to find these great deals, and I am happy to share them with you today.

If you love to read blogs for the imagery, you should be reading Pink Wallpaper.  Shannon Darby is incredible at finding images that center around a theme, or color, or pattern, and putting them together to create a pretty, almost story-like post.  She also posts her fabric steal of the day at The Designers Attic, my go-to, check-first-thing-in-the-morning-and-hit refresh-if-there-is-nothing-posted-yet-a-hundred-times site.  Over the years, I have bought a bajillion yards of fabric from her.  She is so kind and helpful, and her fabrics always arrive perfectly and timely.  Love her!  She is one of those people I just know through the blogging world, but feel like we are friends.  Sometimes she has two yards of a fabric, and sometimes she has several, enough for a real upholstery project.  The Designers Attic has favorites like Schumacher’s Imperial Trellis from time to time, but you had better be on it!  It sells out QUICK.

My second favorite site for great trade fabrics is The Decorators Backroom via Etsy.  She usually only has two yards, and everything is $80, so $40 a yard.  Something I love about this Etsy store is you can request fabrics.  So if you’re looking for a particular pattern, she can try to find it for you.  Even though I can get trade prices, many times, these prices are better than what I can get!  The Decorators Backroom also ships promptly, and and I have always been pleased with my purchase.

Who doesn’t enjoy a seriously beautiful fabric at a great price?  You’re welcome.

Do you have any favorite fabric resources?

In case you missed these, here are some of my other Secret Sources:

Outdoor Velvet Fabrics – No, they’re not $200 a yard

Premier Prints – Knock Off Designer Fabrics

Great Hardware, Great Prices – Hobby Lobby

For Local DFW Shoppers – YWCA Redesign
