10 Jul Round Top Recap Week: Day 2 – Out With The Old
Round Top is full of fresh uses for salvaged pieces. Whether the item was displayed as found, or repurposed into something new, I loved seeing “junk” as art. Creativity spurs creativity, so it is always exciting to see what other’s ideas inspire in your own home.
I thought this reclaimed wood fashioned into this beautiful wall art was really innovative and simply lovely.
These industrial lamps were everywhere! If you took things apart as a kid, this may be the project for you. All you would need is a lamp kit from any hardware store and some metal pieces to weld together. (or get someone else to weld together!)
These next pictures show pieces you may walk by at your local salvage store, but displayed on a wall, are really interesting.
Need a little color in your life? These branches cut at an angle and placed around a mirror would be a fun project. What a great way to use up those paint cans in your house with a millimeter of paint left in them!
Or that extra trim you have laying around? Wrap a boring lamp base with it!
I especially like salvaged items used as garden art or planters. This old trough mounted on an iron stand is so happy and pretty.
Do you have old pictures or do you ever see them at estate sales and wonder what you could do with them? With some twine and clips, you could make an intriguing vignette on a blank wall.
How do you use salvage yard items or old junk in your home?
