17 Apr New Settee
I found this settee at an estate sale this weekend and fell in love. Originally purchased for Gypsy Soul, I broke my “don’t bring it in the house” rule and swooned when I saw it in my entryway.
Of course, with the frilly mirror, I thought the curly frame of the settee may be too much. Perhaps switching it out for an abstract painting would be best? (I threw the vintage bag – aka my new summer pool bag, estate sale $1 – in for extra awesomeness.)
Like the painting? Meet the amazing artists.
Seriously, having kids is like having an abstract art factory. It can deliver daily, it’s awesome. Quite the upkeep though.
I fell more in love with the settee when I saw it was dated 1925. The original sky blue velvet upholstery is pretty stunning, too. But is it better than my antique auditorium seats? What do you think? (If you need a reminder of what my entryway looks like, click here)
Which would you choose?
{this is not rhetorical, I really am asking}

You should.

Want your own cotton candy beard? Simple. Go to your brother’s baseball game and charm other mothers into giving you lollipops. Make sure you get their stickiness all over your face. Then charm your grandfather into buying you your first cotton candy. The End.

Posted at 06:50h, 17 AprilDefinitely keep your estate loveseat. I might try an abstract painting (3′ long X 18″ high?) hung between the loveseat and white mirror. Your children are beautiful, look like Ralph Lauren models!

Posted at 22:26h, 17 AprilSusan, I LOVE that idea! Very interesting. I really may go get a canvas and see how that would look. And thank you for the compliments on my children, they mostly look like their father. 😉 I so appreciate your comment! G

Posted at 08:12h, 17 AprilI like the settee better as well. I liked the auditorium chairs too, but now when I see the comparison pictures they create quite a dark feeling compared to the settee.
Grace
Posted at 22:30h, 17 AprilTiffany, yeah, the settee is definitely brighter. I think it works with the other colors I have in the space, too. The runner really helps everything come together. Looks like I need to find another spot for the auditorium seats! Thanks so much for commenting! G

The Glam Pad
Posted at 23:06h, 17 AprilI absolutely LOVE that settee, and it looks amazing with your (very talented and beautiful) children’s artwork! That pool bag is beyond fabulous, what a find! The auditorium seats are really cool as well, but you know how I love my glam. 🙂
Also, per your note, I will definitely check out Gypsy Sout Interiors! Thanks for the tip and the kind words!
