I try to have what I call a “nature indicator” in each room in my home and in the rooms I design. Whether it be wood or plant life, an old botanical print or a modern floral, making a reference to nature adds an element of softness and yes, even familiarity, to any space. Something I have been drawn to the past few years, are these driftwood or twisted root tables. We had a similar one at Gypsy Soul several months ago, and I feel a small pang in my heart every once in awhile that I sold it.
I think these are so beautiful.

Their unpredictable, organic feel is so interesting to me!
And even though it is not technically a driftwood table, I had to include the tree trunk dining table featured in Elle Decor a couple of years ago. It’s a spectacular Groundworks creation, and one of those pieces that has stuck in my mind.

Posted at 03:17h, 06 AprilI love driftwood tables and have for years! One of those items to save your pennies for. I totally am with you on incorporating a nature element in each room. Usually, this means a live plant but I’ve also used feathers or a dried branch before.

Posted at 08:04h, 16 SeptemberIt has been my privilege & joy to have been able to create authentic driftwood tables for my customers homes for the past 33 years. It just never gets old to take
a raw driftwood tree root & transform it into a piece of art that people make the focal point of their living room. I’ve been fortunate to have access to the Florida red cedar driftwood that is probably the finest in the world for making this type of furniture.

Posted at 18:01h, 16 SeptemberMy old site was outdated, so my son & his fiance volunteered to build me a new one using WordPress. They’re both young attorneys so it’s been a work in progress. I like what they’re doing & I appreciate your comment about its design. That’s encouraging. Next they’re pushing me to start a blog.
