17 Dec Color Combinations: Emerald Green and Coral
We had a good weekend.
My husband and I attended his annual Christmas work party, we had a good visit with family, and my birthday was yesterday which included my husband cooking a delicious breakfast, and going out for a delectable sushi dinner.
It’s fun, of course, to dress for an occasion, so before my hubby and I were off, I wanted to get some pictures. Assuredly, that meant everyone had to be in the pictures.
Don’t you love blurry kid pictures? I have about ten million. However, I am getting a big dog camera soon (yup, I’m movin’ up and going for it!), so hopefully, that will help.
We did manage to get a picture of just us. Although not really because the kids are still curled up around our legs. Which I absolutely love.
The beautiful silver lace and orangey coral top is from Anthro (happy birthday to me!), and though they say it is red, it is not. I love the tangerine-pink hue to it, and paired it with my favorite jeans, moss-colored suede wedges, and my beloved antique pair of malachite earrings. (clip-on! because I don’t have pierced ears, finding non-Dynasty-esque clip-on earrings is tough!)
The color combo of this orangey-pink and emerald green – after all, it is the color of the year! – was so pretty together I began imagining it into rooms (which I often do when I see fashion combos I like). Therefore, it just seemed natural to put together a little inspiration gallery for you. So if my outfit was a room, it would look like…
Beautiful, yes? Do you have any coral and green in your home?

Also, it just doesn’t seem right not to mention the tragedy in Connecticut. I received the news just as I was posting Friday, and frankly, my post seemed not important at that moment. As a mother with four small children, one in kindergarten next year, I am heartbroken for those families, as we all are. May God give them comfort and mercy this Christmas and in the difficult days/years ahead. Our heartfelt, deepest prayers are with them. Though my children are too young to know or even comprehend what is happening, we will all be wearing white and green today in honor of Sandy Hook. There really are no words…

Posted at 10:52h, 19 DecemberHi Jodi! Actually, I am going to do a post on my tree this week. I have no idea what variety it is other than “grows in the woods in East Texas cedar”. 🙂 Every year, we go to my husband’s family’s land in East Texas and chop down a tree. This year, instead of a pine, we chose a cedar, and I love it! I totally agree, I think the whispiness is super pretty. G 🙂
